Main Street Landing Design & Construction Principles

In August 1993, The Main Street Landing Company commissioned William Maclay Architects and Planners to develop sustainable design principles for the Main Street Landing project. William Maclay, John Quinney, Blair Hamilton and the Main Street Landing design team worked on that draft. The current draft, developed and refined during the early months of 2000, reflects the involvement of the Main Street Landing development and design team and environmental design consultants, William Maclay and Andy Shapiro of Vermont Energy Investment Corporation. The Economic Footprint of the Arts in Vermont

Taken together, the Arts in Vermont is big business, employs a lot of Vermonters, and generates a significant amount of tax revenue.

At the request of Main Street Landing, we examined the Vermont Arts “industry” to get a sense of its size and importance to the state’s economy. We looked specifically at artists, museums and historic sites, arts promoters and agents, and performing arts companies. Read more >>

Main Street landing Tenant Fit-Up Principles

The purpose of this document is to provide environmental guidelines for tenants in making building improvements, in purchasing equipment, and in operating and maintaining buildings in the Main Street Landing Project. The buildings have been designed initially to provide a healthy working environment for building users while minimizing negative impacts on the environment. Later building improvements, equipment purchases, and maintenance procedures by owners and tenants can either improve or hinder the buildings performance, occupant’s health and environmental impacts caused by future use.
