Burlington Economic Development - Legacy Project
Main Street Landing is a development company with a vision that includes environmentalism and social conscience. Lisa Steele and Melinda Moulton, the redevelopers of the Main Street Landing Company, make a strong effort to build buildings as well as relationships. In their effort to develop Burlington's Waterfront they create buildings that incorporate realistic, attainable, and cost effective sustainable design strategies
Main Street Landing follows strict environmental guidelines developed to not only protect the natural environment, but also to create designs that connect "local" mixed-use functions with public access. Their latest Lake and College Street Redevelopment Project will create a pedestrian friendly streetscape linking a city park with Burlington’s waterfront and it will offer an array of local merchants, an independent movie theater, a performing arts center, a greenhouse/solarium, 18,000 square feet of new park land, and 25,000 square feet of public space and promenades.
Main Street Landing also endeavors to support the arts and local culture, to provide incubator space for start-up local businesses, to nurture social responsibility, and to make decisions based on ecological integrity, economic security, individual empowerment, and social well being.
